Settlement on the Sturgeon Toastmasters Club is held at St. Albert High School Library Monday evenings 7:30 to 9:30 pm from September to May.

How Toastmasters Works:

At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to a group and working with others in a supportive environment. Each meeting provides an opportunity to practice:

Conducting meetings:  Alternate meetings usually begin with a short business session, which helps members learn basic meeting procedures.

Speaking impromptu:   Five to 8 members present one-to two-minutes responses to an assigned question.

Presenting prepared speeches:  Three members present speeches based on projects from the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Program manuals. Projects cover such skills as speech organization, voice, language, gestures, and persuasion. You can learn by delivering a speech and by watching and evaluating other speakers.

Offering Constructive Evaluation: Every prepared speaker is assigned an evaluator who points out speech strengths and offers suggestions for improvement.
